those days…these days

I still remember the days when The Wonder Years and Doogie Howser MD used to be shown on Star Plus. Those were some the shows that I used to watch, but I was not a regular watcher to these shows, I used watch the The Crystal Maze regularly. Zee cafe started a show called ‘Old Skool’ where the Wonder years and Doogie Howser is shown on teevee again. It’s a t 1 am and 1.30 am. I’m still surprised that I could remember most of the characters in The Wonder Years, not the names. I remember Kevin, his geeky alergic-to-everything friend, his family except his sister, I don’t remember her, and of course his girlfriend(had a crush on he….guess everyboy of my age who used to watch the show then did). I couldn’t remember the many narration and the picturisation seemed more different…..and Doogie Howser MD, well that was the same as I can remember. I remmber Doogie, his friend who pops in through the window when doogie sits st his computer typing what he did that day.
So last night, when I saw the first episode of bith the series, I thought that I would find it boring and I would rather go back to sleep, but it still is special as before.
“ Growing up happens in a heartbeat. One day you’re in diapers, the next day you’re gone. But the memories of childhood stay with you for the long haul. I remember a place, a town, a house like a lot of houses, a yard like a lot of other yards, on a street like a lot of other streets. And the thing is, after all these years, I still look back, with wonder. ”
