Even though I abhor the idea of Cricket being watched in every house, every time( mostly because I can’t watch other programmes during that time), I couldn’t help but be excited that Yuvraj Singh had hit six sixes in an over. Finally it was good to watch India bat, every batsman did their thing, but right there when India started to bowl, my mind reached the hate cricket mode. Even though India did win the match, it was a hopeless victory.

…and in the news was about the new ShahRukhKhan movie much hyped up multi cameoed ‘ Om Shanti Om’, was about two distributing companies who bagged the distributing rights for a very large sum of money attracted the Income tax people, and the usual that happens, happened. Apparently ShahRukhKhan underwent physical training to build up a six pack Abs for the movie. Everybody watches the ‘monkey faced’ King Khan, all WOW’ing and OOH’ing like they’ve never seen another guy with six pack abs, both men and women. If one goes to construction site, one can see many men with them. How come they don’t get all that? And mind you, it was the same ShahRukhKhan that made fun of Salman Khan(not in a bad way though) in a Clinic Plus ad.

Last weekend I saw a Malayalam film, ‘Arabi Katha’, which is a story about a communist “cuba” Mukundan. Mukudan will do anything for his pary “The Communist People Party” and will do nothing to bring a bad name to his party.According to him the promised land are Cuba and China, where communism still upheld. But when something terrible happens, he has no choice than to go to Dubai to work. Hence the name “Arabi Katha” (An Arabian Tale) . The movie sends across mixed views to one’s mind about keralites working in the gulf countries. Even though this movie is no heights of Film making, it’s got it’s humorous side and some good characters.

Growin’ up!!

damn…I am 23 years old and I still haven’t grown up.

I have been pondering about this thought for the past two weeks. It’s like the there’s no meaning in anything I do. Anyway Life’s like impressing somebody. Who do I have to impress? I don’t care much about everything happening around me. Is that why I blog? Nay. Even though I write crap( my blog is full of crap), this is one place where I put my thoughts( 90% of ‘em are not published, just drafts). This is the place where I talk without speaking and for one year I have been doing that. By the way, Happy B’day me blog…..

Tomorrow, as usual is movie day. Harry Potter. I don’t read the books therefore I’ll have to see what Harry is up to this time. The movie Ratatouille I downloaded happened to be some other movie, and it’s in French and no subtitles. Damn. It took three days to download and I’ve waiting to see that movie and I can’t download the 52 Countdown series. The only thing to do nowponder upon Simon and Garfunkel’s Sound of Silence.

Hello Darkness my ol’ friend…….

hiya

It’s been a long time since I blogged. Actually I think about posting everyday, but it’s either the lack of ideas or most of the time it’s presnting the ideas in a decent, readable, understandable way. Everybody get’s ideas. That’s blogging and I intend to get better. Someday. I hope.

Over here I’m trying to get ‘Ratatouille‘, and the cbr format of the 52 Countdown series. I just figured out that using bittorrent is different from lime wire. What am I supposed to do?

I saw Paris, Je t’aime a month back, but the thing is that I feel that I can’t give a decent review for that movie. All I can say is that, it’s a good movie and I’ll give it ****.

Die Hard 4.0…that’s what the name of the movie is in India, not Die Hard or Live free. Even though I thought it might suck since it’s a PG-13 movie. It’s like “C’mon what good is a die hard movie when it’s a PG-13 .” Some year for Hollywood, 4 sequels out and one more is on it’s way. Soon we’ll have only sequels. Every movie name will have a number beside it. It’s starting out over here in India. Dhoom:2. Soon for originality it’ll be Dhoom returns, which is not original. We’ll even have Sholay 2: Gabbar Returns.

Anyway I’ll give Die Hard 4.0, ***1/2

But what Happened After the Die Hard movie was the real highlight. It was the day when it rained heavily in Mumbai and I walked in the flood against the current for around 10 kilometers. It was quite an experience. Apparently I along with 3 others were the only ones who was pretty much shocked about the floods in the beginning. Everybody else were having their time of their life. One group were playing cricket(or some game…I can’t remember). Another were sitting on top of somebody else’s car with booze. A group of three were having their evening stroll in the floods. The water was in the height of around 3 feet. I just have to exaggerate it and tell it as a story to my grand kids someday. I’ll be their Hero.

V

Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it’s my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.

WHAT!!!!

Not that I don’t like it, but this was totally not what I expected.

After a look at the fake picture which was done with the help of Adobe probably, I expected a cool, dignified, a-wide-grin-on-the-face ,probably Armani suited Joker. This one blew my mind off……but I think it’ll be ok. With only a piece of jute, the Scarecrow’s costume turned out to be the coolest in the previous movie. Therefore I have faith .

Now I can’t waith to find out how this movie is gonna be.

those days…these days

kevpaul.jpgdoogie_howser_md.jpg
I still remember the days when The Wonder Years and Doogie Howser MD used to be shown on Star Plus. Those were some the shows that I used to watch, but I was not a regular watcher to these shows, I used watch the The Crystal Maze regularly. Zee cafe started a show called ‘Old Skool’ where the Wonder years and Doogie Howser is shown on teevee again. It’s a t 1 am and 1.30 am. I’m still surprised that I could remember most of the characters in The Wonder Years, not the names. I remember Kevin, his geeky alergic-to-everything friend, his family except his sister, I don’t remember her, and of course his girlfriend(had a crush on he….guess everyboy of my age who used to watch the show then did). I couldn’t remember the many narration and the picturisation seemed more different…..and Doogie Howser MD, well that was the same as I can remember. I remmber Doogie, his friend who pops in through the window when doogie sits st his computer typing what he did that day.

So last night, when I saw the first episode of bith the series, I thought that I would find it boring and I would rather go back to sleep, but it still is special as before.

“ Growing up happens in a heartbeat. One day you’re in diapers, the next day you’re gone. But the memories of childhood stay with you for the long haul. I remember a place, a town, a house like a lot of houses, a yard like a lot of other yards, on a street like a lot of other streets. And the thing is, after all these years, I still look back, with wonder. ”

— Daniel Stern as the narrator, The Wonder Years (ABC TV)

mayday!!

On the 1st of May, I decided not to go out roaming to any malls or to the movie theatres. So for the first time in Mumbai I did not go out of the apartment(except for buying my dinner). Got up in the morning at around 1030 hrs(late ‘cos I watched ‘The Inside Man’ the , switched on the teevee and got so engrossed in the movie Oliver Twist (a Roman Polaski film) that I forgot to eat my Breakfast. After that I read the ‘Hush’ (again), and yeah(…….Dorene, Merin, Punnen and Swen !!!(if it all you guys are reading this)….I know it’s too late to write this, but thank you for ’Hush’….I wanted to write a thank you post and all…It is the best b’day present I could get and I read it in the office and whenever I have nothing to do ( I have nothing to do most of the time)).

After getting the pizza from the delivery guy, I watched 5 episodes of the ‘The Hollow Men’ in my roomie’s laptop

NOTE TO SELF: Do not try this again, as you would puke the off pizza your stomach due to continous laughter.

Then switched on to the teevee again and watched a Malayalam film, crappy it was and for about half an hour I was just changing the channels searching for something interesting until Spidey man 2 came to rescue(else maybe I would have thrown the remote outside the window or maybe not…it’s not my teevee)

After having dinner, I watched 5 episodes of ‘Arrested Development’….I think this is was the most overlooked tv-series. Witty and Wicked. So far I found ‘Bringing up Buster’ the funniest.

Watched ‘Annapolis’ after that,….I thought it is another version of the ‘The Officer and the Gentleman’. And after all that it was 2 am in the nite.

NOTE TO SELF AGAIN: get a life

Dogs-World Domination.

After reading Nita’s post I was reminded of what I imagined few days ago. She mentioned about places like Bandra in Mumbai and Bangalore having stray dogs in packs roaming snarling and mauling(ok…the latter i didn’t know). She must not have been to Andheri East, especially J.B Nagar where I stay. You’d find dogs and bitches(you see a lot of the latter) walking like normal people…..well the thing in J.B Nagar is that you’d find Cows too walking like normal people, even though they shit everywhere atleast they don’t attack. I walk home late at night everyday, and when I reach J.B Nagar, I get the spider sense tingling everytime that i am being followed. It’s like I always think that they have a kind of strategy in keeping themselves from harm.
Coming back back to what I imagined once. I think there is this whole secret thing going on in Mumbai….a conspiracy thing probably. I think the dogs have understood the Human behaviour, they know their weakness, their strengths, their everything. Oh! that would be our weakness, our strengths, our everything. I think there is this secret place where no human knows or been where they would be safe and multiply……multiply and then they’d take over the world. They’d form their own civilisation, governments, wars and nukes. They’d have their teevee shows(hmmm…’F.R.I.E.N.D.S’……instead ‘D.O.G.S’…..or even better ‘D.A.W.G.S’ as in “whusup dawg!!!”). Soon each dag calling every other dog a ‘bitch’ would be banned because that would be a law against discrimination. And they’d have humans as pets with lashes around our necks and all. Poodles will have cute little humans(dwarfs and elves) as pets, with all the cuddling and so on….Poodles will be like how some of us humans consider the blondes in the US. There’d be movie called “Legally Poodle”…….
Hmmmmm….If I could draw like the rut blog guy, probably I could put all of this in a drawing.

It seems some people from another country came to Mumbai saying that’d sterilize all the dogs for free, but the animal lovers movement in Mumbai put a stop to it. Now we have dogs in the streets who’d take over the world. Shouldn’t we do something? I don’t want to be in a kennel.

Have a joyful Easter

I wish all my friends and everyone passing by a Blessed Friday and a Joyful Easter!!

Does everybody feel this way?

Lately I don’t feel like posting(well it’s not like I’m posting everyday and it’s good). I’ve seen some bloggers, just stop like that and I dunno…..I just wait for a comment and reply back, then sheck the blog stats and check others blog.

Maybe I get the feeling I’m writing crap. Anyway, the last weekend I went in search of this movie called ‘Welcome to Collingwood/Collinwood’. Couldn’t find it anywhere and most of the shops were closed it was Holi. All of a sudden I found this shop. One’d easily know that it is a DVD/VCD because of the numerous number of posters stuck at the entrance. So many posters that one can’t see the inside from out. I went inside, I asked how much for the movie, and he said,”2000 rupees”…..my mind went blank. I went outside. “he said that in English alright”, I said to myself, “or was it a mistake”, but I didn’t go back in. He must have been drunk…..but he didn’t seem to be that way. He seemed like a nice, fat, hindi guy with a mushtache. Got to go back next time and ask him again.
